Behemoth Release Visually Stunning Music Video for ‘Nomen Barbarvm’
Polish extreme metal legends Behemoth have unleashed a fierce and thematic new music video for their track “Nomen Barbarvm”. The song is a standout highlight from their critically acclaimed 2025 album, The Shit Ov God.
Directed by long-term collaborator Dariusz Szermanowicz, the apocalyptic video delivers the high-level cinematic quality fans have come to expect from the band. Utilizing dramatic lighting, elaborate costuming, and intricate special effects, the video explores occult traditions and subverts religious iconography to create a dark, epic narrative.
A Vision of Uncompromising Art
Behemoth frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski describes the track as a fusion of melody and deep groove, anchored by a powerful lyrical theme.
“‘I create as I speak.’ Isn’t that, in essence, Crowley’s ‘Do what thou wilt’ — just cast in slightly different words?” Nergal comments. “This idea became the lyrical leitmotif of ‘Nomen Barbarvm’, arguably one of the most melodic, yet also deeply groove-driven tracks Behemoth have ever committed to tape.”
Reflecting on the collaboration with Grupa 13, Nergal added: “What you’re about to see is a music video we’re immensely proud of. You already know what that combination means — uncompromising quality and an artistic vision that doesn’t compromise!”
Production and Artistry
Released in May 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records, The Shit Ov God was produced by the renowned Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios. Bogren’s production captures the band’s raw ferocity while maintaining a clear, natural sound.
The album’s visual identity is equally meticulous. The “beautifully ominous” cover art was crafted by longtime partner Bartek Rogalewicz (BLACK.LODGE.IS.NOW) in collaboration with Dark Sigil Workshop, ensuring the aesthetic matches the sonic mayhem of the record.
