As the heavy metal community prepares for the end of an era, Megadeth have intensified the build-up to their final studio album with the release of their latest single, “Puppet Parade”.

This new track marks the fourth glimpse into the band’s upcoming self-titled LP, which is scheduled for release on 23 January 2026. This swan song follows the critically acclaimed The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! and will be released via Dave Mustaine’s Tradecraft imprint on Frontiers Label Group’s new BLKIIBLK label.

For their final recording, Megadeth reunited with producer Chris Rakestraw, who also worked on the band’s previous two outings, Dystopia (2016) and The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!. The collaboration ensures the band goes out with the high-octane, technical precision that has defined their career.

The album notably includes a cover of Metallica’s “Ride The Lightning” as a bonus track, a move that is sure to spark conversation among long-time thrash fans.
